This is a working template modelled on the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the framework most hosts and platforms operate under. It is not legal advice, and the law that binds you depends on where you are established. Have a lawyer review it before you rely on it.
DailyAtlas respects copyright. If material on this site infringes yours, tell us and we will act.
Reporting infringement
Send your notice to Hello@daily-atlas.com with DMCA Notice in the subject line.
A valid notice must include all of the following. A notice missing any of them cannot be acted on, and we will write back asking for the missing part:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act for them.
- Identification of the work you say has been infringed. If several works are covered by one notice, a representative list.
- Identification of the material on this site you say is infringing, precise enough for us to find it — a URL, not a description.
- Your contact details: address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

Removal is not an admission that infringement occurred. It is the process working as designed.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to Hello@daily-atlas.com containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the original complainant. Unless they notify us that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.
Knowingly and materially misrepresenting that material is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. This applies to complainants and counter-notifiers alike. Do not file either as a tactic.
Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts and remove the contributions of anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright.
